Make a visit of it
NYC's only working farm and the longest continuously farmed site in New York State (since 1697). The animals, greenhouse, and orchard are all free. Skip the ticketed festivals and come on a random weekday when you might have 47 acres to yourself. The apple cider in fall is outstanding.
After: Dumpling Galaxy (Chinese dumplings, $8-14). 42-35 Main St, Flushing. Worth the 20 min drive to the dumpling capital. Over 100 varieties. The lamb and squash dumplings are the move.
