83 acres of Sailor's Snug Harbor, a 19th-century retired sailors' home turned arts campus. The Chinese Scholar's Garden is modeled after a Ming Dynasty garden and worth the $5. Free outdoor concerts and festivals in summer.
After: Enoteca Maria (Italian, $14-24). Bay St, 10 min drive. Nonnas from different countries cook each night. No menu -- you eat what grandma made. Reservations essential.
