The Grand Concourse itself is an architectural treasure -- walk north from the museum to see the Art Deco apartment buildings. The museum's focus on Bronx-based and global South artists gives it a perspective no Manhattan museum has.

After: Ceetay (Asian fusion, $10-18). 161st and Grand Concourse. Surprisingly great sushi and Thai in the Bronx. BYOB.
