The Tiffany lamps collection is stunning and most people don't know it's here. The research library is one of the oldest in America. The DiMenna Children's History Museum downstairs is included and surprisingly engaging for adults too.

After: Celeste (restaurant, $$). amsterdam between 84th and 85th, 7 min walk. tiny italian with a wood-fired oven. cash only, always a line, under $20 for real neapolitan pizza. one of the best cheap meals on the uws.
